What happens during a sexual harassment investigation
In essence the HR manager will be the person to conduct an investigation.
He or she will generally ask you for a report. He will then read the womans statement, read your statement and then decide which he believes or wishes to believe.
In many cases no witnesses are interviewed, the HR manager may choose to interpret what you have written in a light most unfavourable to you, and there is no law that enables you to counter this!
AND that in many many cases is the ENTIRE investigation.
And when he
decides who he wishes to believe, let us not forget the millions of dollars in
punitive damages that the courts might impose against him if he chooses to
believe a man.
